Lanzante and 'Mad Mike' Whiddett are joining forces to reveal what is said to be the wildest drift hypercar on earth, Project 'MadMac'.
'Mad Mac' will be designed around the body work of the McLaren P1 GTR, and aims to showcase what can be achieved when expert automotive innovators work together. The initial stages of this project were completed at Lanzante's workshop in the U.K. Now, the project has made its way to Mike's 'Mad Lab' in New Zealand where it is being given the full drift-spec treatment.
Lanzante is said to have extensive experience with the McLaren P1 GTR. The company has engineered several extreme variants of this model in the past. Mad Mike, on the other hand, is more than just a Red Bull athlete. He is considered one of the world's best drifters and is also known for his wild drift machine builds.
It is said that the idea for this project came to light when Dean Lanzane, the son of Lazante's founder, met Mike last year at Goodwood. Since then, they started exploring what was possible. Although Lanzante has prior experience building what can be considered extreme cars, with Mike's expertise, this project will take things up a level or two.
With the combined knowledge and expertise form engineering experts, the drift superstar and the team at O'Gara Coach, a car curator, Project 'MadMac' set to be unveiled at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024 in July 2024. Until then, details of the project can be seen across the Lanzante's, O'Gara Coach's and Mad Mike's social media channels.
